Advanced Co-op Developer Training in Winnipeg June 11-12-13, 2008

Devco, a British Columbia-based consulting worker co-op with many years of experience, is pleased to announce an Advanced Co-op Developer Training session in Winnipeg (location to be confirmed). The session is a second presentation of the very successful and well-received workshop delivered in February.
The three-day session will be delivered in Winnipeg on June 11-12-13, 2008 by experienced co-op developers Melanie Conn and Marty Frost.  
This will be a valuable opportunity for participants to gain more knowledge about the development of cooperatives and to increase their skill in assisting potential co-op groups.  The training is designed for those whose work now involves co-op development or is anticipated to in the future, e.g. in government, Community Futures Corporation, credit union or co-operative, non-profit organization, or independent consultancy, and who have attended some form of basic/introductory training about co-ops and co-op development.
The content explores essential topics for effective cooperative development in Manitoba including group formation and support issues, capitalization options, legal requirements, governance structures, operational planning and implementation.

Tuition per person is $450 (plus GST) which includes all course materials and mid-morning and afternoon refreshment breaks. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and meals. There is a limited bursary pool.
